Pet adoption day planned Saturday
Willow Creek Sanctuary is participating in a pet adoption day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Tractor Supply on the Danville bypass. Other area shelters and rescues also will be on-hand with adoptable animals. Information available about its new GO GREEN spay initiative, available at Town and Country Animal Hospital, 1714 Perryville Road. Information on how to have animals green lined after spaying to keep down invasive diagnostic surgeries and painful ear tipping also will be available. Willow Creek Sanctuary is a Purina Pro Rally to Rescue ambassador.
Marching band contest planned Saturday
The Danville Invitational Marching Band Contest will be 5-9 p.m. Saturday at Danville Admiral Stadium on Stanford Road. Cost is $8 for adults, $5 for children 12 and younger. Competing include Lafayette High School and Lexington Christian School out of Lexington, schools from Mercer, Boyle, Garrard, Rockcastle, Lee, Marion and North Oldham counties, and Corbin, Middlesboro and Madison Southern. Danville High School’s marching band will perform in exhibitions.
Barr at Constitution Square Festival
Andy Barr, candidate for Congress for Kentucky’s Sixth Congressional District, will be at Constitution Square Arts Fest on Saturday. The Sixth Congressional District is made up of 16 counties including Boyle, Garrard, Lincoln and Mercer counties. Everyone attending the festival is invited to stop by the “Andy Barr for Congress” booth to meet and talk with Barr.
