Obituary: William 'Billy' Burchett

JUNCTION CITY — William Ruben “Billy” Burchett, 70, of Junction City, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011. 

Born Aug. 12, 1941, in Kidds Store, Ky., he was the son of the late Samuel and Susan Holt Burchett. He was retired from FKI Logistics in Danville and a member of Frye's Creek Baptist Church. He served in the Unites States Army and was a Vietnam veteran.     

Survivors include his wife, Loretta Pass Burchett; two sons, Terry (Shelia) Brown of Caddo Mills, Texas, and Dearl Louis (Kerri) Burchett of Greenup; three daughters, Leslie Irene Damron of Kingsport, Tenn., Mary (Tim) Brown of Danville and Piney Sue Burchett of Moreland; two brothers, J.C. Burchett of Hustonville and Garnett Burchett of Nicholasville; six sisters, Lucille Gilbert of Indianapolis, Ind., Josie Goins of Danville, Jewell C. Scott of Brooklyn, Ind., Piney B. Lane of Mooresville, Ind., Naomi M. Burchett of Danville and Pamela K. Luster of Hustonville; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be 12:30 p.m. Monday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home in Moreland by Bros. David Fralix and Jeff Phelps. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery with military rites by the United States Army and American Legion Post 18.

 Pallbearers will be his nephews and honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons. 

 Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today.
