City to meet Tuesday

The Winchester Board of Commissioners will conduct its regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the city hall chambers.

School planning committee meeting

The Clark County Public Schools Local Planning Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Clark County Schools Central Office, 1600 W. Lexington Ave.
The committee hopes to gather input from the public to be used in developing a district facilities plan.
The public forum scheduled for Wednesday has been cancelled. It will be rescheduled at a later date.

Fiscal Court to hold town hall meeting

The Clark County Fiscal Court will host a town hall meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, at the Pilot View Grocery on KY 15.
The purpose of the meeting is to receive and discuss concerns from citizens, and no action will be taken at the meeting.
The Fiscal Court also will have an insurance committee meeting at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the courthouse to discuss health benefits of county employees.

NAMI to celebrate Mental Illness Awareness Week

The Winchester branch of the National Alliance on Mental Illness will kick off Mental Illness Awareness Week Oct. 1 with a free Zusman party at the College Park Gym.
Danica Cottrell will lead the event, which will go from 10 a.m. to noon.
The event is open to all age groups and can accommodate any fitness level.

Fayette GOP groups hosting forum

The Fayette county Women’s groups, Women Republicans of Central Kentucky, the Republican Women’s Forum and the Fayette County Republican Women’s Club are hosting a candidate forum beginning at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, at the Barrels House.
A meet and greet with refreshments begins at 5 p.m., and candidates will speak and answer questions at 6 p.m.
