Nicholasville police is asking the public’s help in locating a Wilmore woman who has been charged with 12 counts of sex-crime-related charges.

Police are searching for Ashley B. Bender, 30, of 705 Corbitt Drive, Wilmore.

“Police in Nicholasville have made several attempts locally to find (Bender) and as of this time have had no success,” officer Kevin Grimes said in a news release Monday morning. “Information has been received that (Bender) may be staying at an unknown location in Lexington.”

Bender was arrested by Nicholasville police June 26 on the charges.

Bender pleaded not guilty to the charges July 5; she was indicted by a Jessamine County grand jury July 29.

According to court records, Bender faces five counts of third-degree rape; two counts of third-degree sodomy; three counts of unlawful transaction with a minor, where it is alleged that Bender provided controlled substance Xanax, marijuana and alcohol to a minor; and two counts of use of a minor in sexual performance, “where she employed or induced (the minor) to engage in a sexual performance,” according to court records.

The rape charges stem from an alleged incident June 24 when Bender “had intercourse with (a 15-year-old) male” at a local hotel, according to court records.

Stipulations to her bail include that she cannot have any contact with the minor, she cannot use drugs or alcohol, and she cannot be arrested on any new charge, related or unrelated to the case. She is also not to have any unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18.

The rape and sodomy charges are Class D felonies, which carry prison time between one and five years, if convicted. The unlawful transaction and use of a minor in sexual performances are Class B felonies, which carry prison time between 10 and 20 years, if convicted.
