SOMERSET — Authorities are searching for a Garrard County man who walked away from work detail at the Pulaski County Detention Center Thursday.
A deputy jailer at the Somerset facility said that Jesse Myers Cannon, 31, of Lancaster, reamined at large Saturday afternoon. He was serving time after being convicted in Garrard County of criminal possession of a forged instrument and violating his probation.
Authorities said Cannon worked Thursday at Lake Cumberland Regional Airport and was being transported back to the jail by an airport employee when the vehicle had mechanical problems and pulled into the Walmart parking lot. The employee told police Cannon slipped away while he and another inmate were working on the vehicle.
Cannon has relatives living throughout central Kentucky, police said. Anyone with information about Cannon’s whereabouts is asked to call Somerset Police Department’s 24-Hour Crime Tip Line at (606) 676-TIPS.
