Wilson designated fellow of association
Dr. Henry R. Wilson has been designated a fellow of the Poultry Science Association at its annual meeting in July, held in St. Louis.
The status of fellow recognizes members of the association for professional distinction and contributions to the field of poultry science. Election to Fellow is one of the highest distinctions a PSA member can achieve.
Wilson is a native of Lawrence County, and received both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Kentucky, and a doctorate from University of Maryland. He retired following a 40-year career on the faculty of the University of Florida. He presently resides with his wife, Faye, in Gravel Switch.
Fort Logan announces new board member
Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital welcomes Donald Aldridge as the newest member on its board of directors.
Aldridge is the superintendent for Garrard County Schools and has been with the school system since 2009. He previously served as the superintendent of Eminence Independent for three years and as a principal for seven years. He is active in visiting schools, extra-curricular events and community events.
Aldridge served in the Kentucky National Guard for 22 years and received the Army Commendation Medal for having a 100 percent mission success rate with no casualties or major incidents while serving as a platoon sergeant for a transportation company during the Persian Gulf War.
He lives in Lancaster with his wife, Reecy. They have three children and six grandchildren.
Springfield clinic relocates
Ephraim McDowell Health has moved its primary care clinic in Springfield to a new location and has a new name. Ephraim McDowell Springfield Family Medical Center is located at 280 Lincoln Drive, across from the Springfield Inn.
Springfield Family Medical Center’s team of healthcare providers, including nurse practitioners Ashley Spalding and Denise Gilbert, look forward to meeting the community’s healthcare needs. Services will include primary care and acute care services for all ages and laboratory testing. Hours are 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Call (859) 336-9801 to schedule an appointment.
