St. Athanasius distributes this bread, generously supplied by Panera, every Sunday from 1-2 p.m. on the porch of the South Main Street location.
MONDAY
— The Jessamine County Senior Center is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and welcomes people 60 years of age and older. The center has a fully equipped exercise room and a thrift shop. The seniors meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. — The Jessamine County Senior Center will host a farmers market from 9:30-11:30 a.m. in its parking lot at 111 Hoover Drive.
— Father Justin Patterson, pastor of St. Athanasius Orthodox Church at 926 S. Main St. in Nicholasville, will be teaching a series on the Orthodox Church and its teachings. The Orthodoxy 101 series started Wednesday, Sept. 28, and will continue for 12 weeks, excluding Thanksgiving weekend. Classes will be each Wednesday at 7:20 p.m. and will conclude at 8:10 p.m. These classes are open to the public and serve as an introduction to Orthodoxy. — Macedonia Baptist Church in Keene will host a combined choir day Nov. 13. Guest speaker for the 11 a.m. service is the Rev. Nate Peyton, associate minister of Loving Spring Baptist Church, Glasgow, Ky. The guest speaker for the 3:30 p.m. service will be the Rev. Samuel People, pastor of Broadway Baptist Church, Winchester, Ky. People’s choir and congregation will accompany him.
— The Jessamine County Health Department and Central Baptist Hospital will host a diabetes class Nov. 1 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the health department. You must register for the class by Oct. 28.
