Boyle indicts Junction City man on rape charges

A Junction City man has been indicted by a Boyle County grand jury for allegedly raping a teenager.

Jacob Turner, 22, was indicted on counts of first-degree rape and first-degree sodomy for allegedly using forcible compulsion to engage a 17-year-old girl in sexual intercourse and deviant sexual intercourse on Aug. 4.

Police initially also charged Turner with unlawful imprisonment and unlawful transaction with a minor but he was not indicted on those charges.

According to Kentucky State Police, the victim is a friend of Turner’s former girlfriend and he allegedly got her drunk and assaulted her. The victim went to Trooper Rodney Wren’s home in Junction City shortly after the incident and was advised to go to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, where a sexual assault kit was processed, police said.

Bond for Turner was set at $50,000. Trooper Chris Damron testified before the grand jury.

Also indicted were two Danville men who allegedly stabbed another man during an altercation on Sept. 7.

Johnny M. Wilson, 21, of 1131 W. Secretariat Drive, and Zachary R. Jacobs, 20, of 413 Adams St., were each charged with first-degree assault for allegedly stabbing Jason Naylor.

Bond was set at $25,000 each. Deputy Al Isaacs testified before the grand jury.

Others indicted were:

  • Christina Brown, 32, of Hustonville, wanton endangerment, assualt on a police officer and resisting arrest for allegedly putting an infant in danger of serious physical injury by squeezing her and striking School Resource Officer Dustin Clem as he was trying to arrest her on Aug. 1. A summons was issued. Clem testified.
  • Michael Castro, 29, 123 Boyden Court, first-degree sodomy for allegedly engaging in deviant intercourse with a child less than 12 years of age between November 2010 and April 2011. Bond was set at $100,000. Danville Detective A.J. Mullins testified.
  • Lamar Ford, 23, of Junction City, possession of cocaine on Jan. 14. Bond was set at $5,000. Deputy Derek Robbins testified.
  • Jason Everette Coomer, 29, of Stamping Ground, promoting contraband for allegedly bringing illegal material into the Boyle County Detention Center on July 31. Bond was set at $5,000. William Knopp testified.
  • Lawrence Ford, 54, 91 Airport Road, receiving stolen property more than $500 for allegedly having personal property belonging to Gale Thornberry on June 6. Bond was set at $5,000. Isaacs testified.
  • Christopher Francisco, 21, of 228 Heartland Drive, wanton endangerment and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon for allegedly firing a gun in the direction of Joseph Francisco on Aug. 30. A summons was issued. Danville Sgt. Todd Davis testified.
  • Nathaniel Hasty, 28, of Junction City, receiving stolen property more than $500 for allegedly having personal property belonging to Michael Houchen on July 14. Bond was set at $5,000. Danville officer Jonathan Courtwright testified.
  • Gregory L.¿Lewis, 42, of Burgin, possession of oxycodone on Sept. 2. A summons was issued. Danville officer Ricky Sellers testified. 
  • Jordan L. Miller, 19, of Stanford, tampering with evidence for allegedly throwing away the keys to a vehicle he knew to be stolen on Aug. 19. Bond was set at $5,000. Trooper Philip Dean testified.
