Chase Berry led Danville runners in the senior boys race in 30th place, and Karl Hempel was 32nd. Nate Johnson and Dylan Crow were out of the top 50.
“It was a strong showing from all the seniors. We’re peaking at the right time of year,” Danville coach Chris Verhoven said. “I’m very impressed with my team, their times are all dropping at the right time, and hopefully we’re peaking at the right time of the season.”
Calvin Steber was 12th and Michael McChesney was 30th in the junior boys race, and Haley McCowan was 30th in the sophomore girls race. Clellan McMurry, Matt Wagner, Austin Barringer were out of the top 50 in the freshman boys race, but Verhoven said all three ran personal-best times, as did all of the senior boys.
