Captain Bill Hillard, an assistant professor of military science with the Army ROTC¿Program at Eastern Kentucky University, received a meritorious service medal from Brig. Gen. James Bickford during a recent ceremony at EKU. Hillard, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd C. Hillard Jr. of Winchester, joined EKU’s ROTC program this semester after service with the 101st Airborne Division. His medal was awarded for service with the 101st.

Members of the Clark County Republican Women’s Club held their October meeting at the home of Elsie Booth, 16 W. Lexington Ave., with Eunice Caston as associate hostess. The business session was conducted with Charlene Clark presiding. The devotional was given by Mrs. Caston.
