Mount Pleasant Baptist Church is serving as a drop-off location in Nicholasville for Operation Christmas Child — the world’s largest Christmas project of its kind. Local volunteers are busy preparing to receive some 200 gift-filled shoe boxes packed by caring Nicholasville residents with toys, school supplies and necessity items for hurting kids in over 100 countries.

Kinlaw symposium set for Dec. 1
The Francis Asbury Society will host the Dennis Kinlaw Theological Symposium on Dec. 1 from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
Dr. Stephen P. Stratton will be the speaker. He will be speaking on “The Trinitarian Faith as a Model for Forming Relationships.” He is professor of pastoral care and counseling at Asbury Theological Seminary. Stratton was named psychologist of the year in 2010 by the Kentucky Psychologist Association.

NUMC offers Manna Ministries
A free meal is provided by Manna Ministries each Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The meal is a restaurant-quality meal served at 303 W. Maple St. in the community center of Nicholasville United Methodist Church.
The meal is open to the public for anyone in need. Takeout meals are available after 12:30 p.m. Volunteers are always welcome and can contact the office at 885-4481.
St. Athanasius offers bread ministry
St. Athanasius Orthodox Church at 926 S. Main St. in Nicholasville offers a bread ministry.
The church distributes this bread, which has been donated by Panera Bread, every Sunday from 1-2 p.m. at the church’s location.
New Hope Fellowship to host homecoming
New Hope Fellowhip, located at 1451 S. Main St., will host its homecoming Nov. 30 at 11 a.m. The public is invited.
