Dorothy Goff Johnson, 86, widow of Thomas Wesley Johnson, died Nov. 22, 2011.
Born Sept. 1, 1925, in Danville, she was the daughter of the late T.M. and Ethel Owens Goff. She was a 1945 graduate of Danville High School, a sales associate for Spoonamore Drug Store and Boyle Pharmacy, and a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. Dorothy was a member of the Women’s Miss Circle and enjoyed visiting patients in nursing homes and hospitals.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Thomas W. (Nadine) Johnson, and two grandchildren, Miranda and Sydney Johnson, all of Danville; and two cousins, Harold Johnson of Winterhaven, Fla., and Bill Lucas of Jacksonville, Fla. She was predeceased by a sister, Vivian Goff Johnson.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel at Centenary United Methodist Church on Perryville Road, officiated by the Rev. Quentin Scholtz. Speakers will be Tom Johnson, Mary Stith Hamlin and Lisa White. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
