Marie Fox Johnson died June 30, 1999 in Waterloo, Iowa. Herbert N. Johnson died Nov. 8, 2011 in Waterloo.
Marie was born Jan. 20, 1917 in Trapp, the daughter of M.B. and Hallie Epperson Fox. Herbert was born July 8, 1917, near Trapp, the son of Tishabe and Lillie Berryman Johnson.
Herbert and Marie were married Aug. 5, 1939, in Winchester. After their marriage, they moved to Waterloo, Iowa, where they established the family business, Johnson Bakery.
Herbert was known for his love of music and enjoyed impromptu sessions with friends.
They are survived by two daughters, Phyllis (Albert) Harreld of Yucaipa, Calif., and Sharon (Michael) King of Elk Run Heights, Iowa; a son, Dennis (Trudy) Johnson of Waterloo; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
