Our Constitution is eroding

December 07, 2011

I have long expressed deep concern over the rapid erosion of our Constitution. It is under siege and being destroyed. We should be deeply concerned.

Our Founding Fathers said unless our Constitution is based on biblical religion and morality it will not work. Christianity has become an empty ritual. Where are the Christian leaders who will even label homosexuality a sin? The Bible labels it an abomination.

British historian Paul Johnson said in 1999, "The essence of the rule of law is it's impersonality, omnipotence and ubiquity. It is the same for all. If exceptions ae made, the rule of law begins to collapse."

The problem of man has been his failure to learn from history. George Washington said, “of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports."

John Adams said, "statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand."

The Constitution is the foundation of our republic. The Ten Commandments were, in many ways, the foundation of the Constitution.

Our Constitution is being dramatically altered. Your future is being changed, and too often you have no input. This is sure to lead to anarchy.

The success of our Constitution does not depend on to which political party we belong. It depends on how biblically spiritual we are.

Americans have departed from the ideals of our forefathers. We reason that religion and morality are nice, but not necessary for the overall well-being of the nation.

We are falsely led to assume that private morality and public duty are separate issues. John Adams was specific when he said, "The foundation of national morality must be laid in private families."

When Americans go from proclaiming a free society can only exist when founded on private morality to thinking that character doesn't matter, it is time to ask some hard questions about the future of this nation.

The American people's response is a frightening portent of our nation's future.
