Military news for Dec. 11, 2011

 Lt. Second Class Todd E. Harris, son of Freda Harris and father of Alvia Harris, was promoted to chief petty officer in Patuxent River, Md. He has served in the Navy for nearly 13 years.
Harris was born and raised in Danville and is a former Admirals football player.
