Jessamine schools to get uniform websites

Websites for public schools in Jessamine County will look more similar and be kept more up-to-date under an agreement with a new site-management company.
The board of education approved an agreement with SchoolPointe at its Monday meeting. Under the agreement, the district will save some money on its One Call Now notification system, which is related to SchoolPointe.
Chief operations officer Paul Hamann told board members the sites would follow a single template and feature a district calendar similar to Google calendars. He said the schools would lose some customization but that “simplicity will enhance” the sites.
The changeover to the new sites will likely occur during the summer after the template is chosen, Hamann said.

School board approves donation to adult education

The Jessamine County Board of Education approved a $1,500 donation to the Jessamine County Adult Education and Family Literacy Program during its meeting Monday night.
Board member JoAnn Rohrback suggested at the November meeting that the board consider making a donation to the family-literacy program, which is facing an uncertain future after federal funding was cut earlier this year.
