LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Columbia Gas Co.’s 114,000 residential customers will have to pay higher rates to make up for the increased cost of a pipeline to the Toyota Motor Corp. in Scott County. The pipeline was to cost $6 million and was to be financed by the state, according to provisions in the state’s $125 million package of incentives to Toyota. But the cost is now $9.8 million, with the cost picked up by Columbia’s residential customers.
Local street and road crews were out for the fifth time in five days this morning as efforts continued to clean up after a winter storm dropped two inches of snow on Clark County Saturday night and Sunday morning.
The hazardous conditions created enough danger to force the cancellation of school in Clark County for the second consecutive day.
Six Clark Countians are among 681 Kentuckians the Kentucky Revenue Cabinet has been unable to locate.
