Citizens Fidelity Bank of Winchester announced a $30,000 gift to the Winchester Council for the Arts, enabling the organization to match a $75,000 challenge made by an anonymous donor last November. The council, now able to free the funds in escrow, can exercise its option to purchase the Leeds Theater building at 37 N. Main St.
Operation Bootstrap is within $5,950 of reaching its goal of $100,000. Members of the Winchester-Clark County Industrial Development Authority tallied up pledges and contributions to Operation Bootstrap to date at a meeting Thursday.
The Kroger Co. has purchased the Nutrisearch facility in the Winchester Industrial Park for an undisclosed price.
