Dean’s scholars

Western Kentucky University — Cecily Allen, daughter of Mark and Susie Allen of Danville, was named a Dean’s Scholar for the fall semester. Cecily attends the Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science in Kentucky on the WKU campus where she is a junior in high school.

 In addition, Cecily recently participated in the Kentucky High School Speech League regional competition, in Bowling Green, where she placed second in both poetry and prose. She advances to the state competition March 23 and 24 in Lexington.

Boyle County resident receives scholarship 

 Bluegrass Community & Technical College has awarded a scholarship to Stephen Myers of Danville. He received the Alumni Scholarship for BCTC students who demonstrate potential for academic success. It provides money that can be applied to tuition, books and academic support materials.
