Obituary: Billy Rowe

STANFORD — Billy Rowe, 51, of Stanford, died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Ky. 

Born May 16, 1960, in Garrard County, he was a son of Bonnie Payne Rowe of Stanford, Ky., and the late William Henry Rowe. He was a carpenter and a member of Watts Chapel Baptist Church. Billy enjoyed participating in mission trips — one to Gulfport, Miss., and another to New Orleans, La. — helping the people of those communities build back after suffering from massive hurricane damage. Most of all, he enjoyed witnessing for his Savior, Jesus Christ.

Other survivors include his wife, Jeanne Rowe of Stanford, Ky.; three children, Caylee Rowe of Stanford, Robert Meadows of Irving, Texas, and Erin Garrison Johnston of Richmond, Ky.; four brothers and sisters, Richard Rowe, Johnny Rowe, Darlene Spillman and Christi Rowe, all of Stanford; two grandchildren; 13 nieces and nephews; and 25 great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Debbie Sue Rowe; and an infant son.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at Spurlin Funeral Home. The Rev. Dan Gutenson, Gary King, Stewart Dawson and Terry Holt will officiate the services. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.

Casketbearers will be John William Hall and Joe Atkins, Jonathan Floyd, Johnny Lee Rowe, Tommy Mullins and David Neal.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24.
