HARRODSBURG — Mercer County Board of Education approved its 2012-13 academic calendar during its meeting Feb. 16, which calls for students to start classes two days earlier than in the 2011-12 school year.
All Mercer County students will start classes Aug. 8, with all staff members reporting to work the day before. School is scheduled to end for students May 20 and for employees the following day.
“There really isn’t much of a difference between the 2012-13 calendar and the 2011-12 calendar,” said Betty Sims, director of pupil personnel.
Mercer County students and school personnel have fall break Oct. 5-12, Thanksgiving break Nov. 21-23, winter holiday Dec. 20-Jan. 2 and spring break April 1-5. School closes early Dec. 19 for winter holiday.
