Jason Abney: Feb. 28, 2012

Jason “Bird” Abney, 31, husband of Chrissy Carter Abney and son of Rich and Linda Abney Conaway, died Tuesday, Feb. 28. Jason was a native of Jessamine County and a graduate of West Jessamine High School. He was an employee of Helmsdale Apartments, a member of the Citizens Emergency Response Team, and volunteer at the Angel Food and Salvation Army. Additional survivors are children Brianna and Lucas Abney, maternal grandparents Mary and Carl Abney, and paternal grandparents Harold and Myrtle Stevens. A service of remembrance was held Saturday at 1 p.m. in Maple Grove Cemetery. Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home was honored to take care of arrangements.
