Concealed carry class

A concealed carry class will be 9 a.m. to completion Saturday. The class is offered by the department of criminal justice training. The instructor is Jimmy Elliott. For more information, call (859) 332-7728 or (859) 583-5716.

Garrard library events Wednesday

The Garrard County Public Library will host several events on¿Wednesday.

  • Garrard County Veterans’ Representative Eileen Ward will be available to meet with veterans 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday at the library. For more information, call (800) 928-4838, ext. 326.
  • Story and crafts times for various ages will be Wednesday.¿“All My¿Children” for ages 2 and 3 will meet 9:15-9:45 a.m., “Primarily Preschool” for ages 4 and 5 will meet 10-10:30 a.m. and “Young and the Restless” for ages 18 months to 3 years will meet 11-11:30 a.m.
  • Gaming 4 U will be 3:30 p.m. Wednesday for ages 12 to 18. The group plays a variety of Wii games. Those who have not played before need a parental permission slip to participate.

Law office still accepting donations for West Liberty

The law offices of Helton, Erwin and Associates, 432 W. Main St. in Danville, will continue to take donations for tornado relief in West Liberty until noon Wednesday. Items being collected include water, blankets, clothing, pillows, diapers, wipes, baby items, tarps, hammers, shovels, duct tape, brooms, dog and cat food, clothing and non-perishable food items. Checks to the United Way, Lowes cards and Walmart cards will also be accepted. Anyone with further questions may call (859) 236-1010.

Danville schools to show off students’ best work

Danville Independent Schools’ Celebration of Learning will take place 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Danville High School. 

The annual event showcases the best work of students from kindergarten through high school, and features presentations and performances by students throughout the evening.

Food and hand-crafted items created by students will be for sale during the event, with proceeds going to various worthy causes.
