No one was injured when a tractor-trailer truck went off the soft shoulder of the road this morning on North Stewarts Lane, landing on its side in the mud.
Deputy Jody Adams of the Boyle County Sheriff’s Department said he received a call about the wreck about 6:40 a.m. and arrived along with fire personel, who quickly determined no environmental or fire threat was posed by the truck carrying a coiled steel payload.
Driver Mihajlo Gunjov said he tried to move over as far as possible to avoid an oncoming car on the narrow road and his truck just went over.
“I believe he intended to turn on 34 and missed his turn and wound up here,” Adams said.
No citations were issued in the accident.
