Williams, Wenta exchanged vows in July ceremony

Courtney Lynn Williams and Joshua Rodney Wenta were married July 9, 2011, at Winchester First United Methodist Church.

The Rev. James A. Williams IV officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Eddie and Cindy Williams, and the granddaughter of Wendell and Ima Lea Grider of Lexington, and the late Cameron and Rachel Williams of Winchester.

The groom is the son of Don Wenta of Monte Vista, Colo.; Tom Watson of Berea; and Suzi Watson of Paint Lick. He is the grandson of Ron and Bonita Kitts, Leo Wenta and the late Betty Wenta, Ada-Fae Nichols and Nick and Teresa Trujillo.

The maid of honor was Brittany Riley. Bridesmaids were Abby Newcom; Lauren Hatchett; Erin Spring; Bonnie Watson, sister of the groom; and Tamera Spangler, sister-in-law of the bride.

Serving as best men were Tony Shouse and Shane McGuire. Groomsmen included Thomas Baker; Anthony Zanni; Shadron Wenta, brother of the groom; and Matt Williams, brother of the bride.
Ushers were the University of Kentucky AFROTC Pershing Rifles.

Musicians for the ceremony were Phyllis James, pianist, and John Howe, violinist. Guest book and program attendants were Brigitte Townsend, Emily Merritt and Megan Blandford.

The reception was held at the Winchester Opera House.

The bride is a graduate of George Rogers Clark High School and Transylvania University. She received her master’s degree from Indiana University.

She is a member of Phi Mu.

The groom is a graduate of Berea High School and Transylvania University.

He is a member of Delta Sigma Phi.

He is currently serving in the United States Air Force.

After a honeymoon in St. Lucia, the couple is residing in Cheyenne, Wyo.
