Prep Softball: Danville downs previously unbeaten Marion County 5-2

Danville got a strong pitching performance from Bailey Carson Tuesday to help the Admirals beat previously undefeated Marion County 5-2.
Carson struck out seven, walked two and allowed just three hits for Danville (4-4). Marion fell to 5-1.
Marion led 2-0 going into the bottom of the third when the Admirals took the lead for good.
Kasey Young reached on a three-base error by the Knights and scored on Kayla Breitenbach’s single. Taylor Estes’ double scored Kayla Breitenbach, and Estes then came home on Emma Breitenbach’s single for a 3-2 lead.
Danville scored two more in the fifth. Madison Phillips walked and Young singled. Kayla Breitenbach’s single scored Philips and Estes’ single brought home Young.
