Naval Cadet Corps
Great Lakes, Ill. — The United States Naval Sea Cadet Corp, promoted Alex Bremer of Division 9-1-1 to the rank of Chief Petty Officer at a pinning ceremony on March 10. He was pinned during the ceremony by Executive Officer Spencer Wolin and his mother Jackie Bremer of Danville.
“Mr. Bremer is highly motivated, his evaluations are exemplary. His attendance at drill and attention to detail have always portrayed an extreme level of dedication. His current assignment has been serving as his division’s lead Petty officer which places him as the direct link between the cadets and the Officers, a position which he has excelled,” said Commanding Officer Richard Vetter.
Bremer has been with the Sea Cadet program since 2008. He has completed Sea Cadet Boot Camp and Seamanship training at Great Lakes in 2008. He completed Petty Officer Leadership Academy and Sea Bees (Construction Battalion) training in the summer of 2009. Bremer also attended Kings Bay Naval base for a submarine seminar and was awarded the Honor Cadet for his exemplary dedication to training, his shipmates and his duties. Bremer is a plank holder for participating in the first scuba dive training at Camp Perry, Ohio, and obtained his diving certification and the award for best Dive Buddy. Bremer has staffed trainings including Boot Camp in Whiting, Fla., and Sea Bees in Marseilles, Ill.
