Prep Tennis: Casey boys, girls top Boyle County

The Casey County boys won two close doubles matches Tuesday to pull out a 5-4 victory over Boyle County at Liberty.
After the teams split six singles matches, Casey’s Ryan Martin and Hunter Pierce won 9-7 at No. 2 doubles and Taylor Leigh and Trent Rogers won a tiebreaker 7-3 at No. 3 doubles.
“We’ve played Boyle County twice, and it couldn’ve gone either way. It was nip and tuck in both our matches, and we’re very fortunate to be able to pull out the victory in both our matches. Coach (Tao) Costello is really doing a tremendous job at Boyle County,” Casey coach Phil Williams said.
Ben Akers and Ben Kendrick won the No. 1 doubles match for Boyle.
Girls
Casey County 8, Boyle County 1 — At Danville, visting Casey won five of six singles matches en route to a victory over Boyle.
Tylyn Leigh of Casey defeated Boyle’s Anna Duncan at No. 1 singles in a match shortened due to darkness, while Victoria Horseman had Boyle’s only win at No. 2 singles.
