April 20, 2012|By BOBBIE CURD | bobbie@communityartscenter.net

Although many stroll the halls and galleries of the Community Arts Center to take in the visual pleasures, just as many will be pleasantly surprised to know they can stop in for a free concert.

The Danville Children’s Choir offers up a concert and raffle Tuesday evening.

The raffle is to support the children’s choir trip to the World Choir Games this July in Cincinnati, a showcase of youth singers so extravagant it is referred to as “the Olympics of choral music.” This is the seventh year for the choir games, but the first time it will be held in the United States, with more than 360 choirs from 48 countries registered to participate.

The public will be entertained by the hard work this group has put in singing together. A big prize will go to one participant. The drawing will happen at the end of the concert, where someone will win a grand prize of $1,000.
