Like the baseball team, the Lady Cardinals went extra innings to defeat the opposition.
Clark crossed the plate with three runs in the 10th inning and escaped with a 7-4 victory over Estill County Monday night in Irvine.
The Lady Cards (10-12) collected 17 hits, with three of those coming in their last appearance at the plate.
Kolbi Mitchell and Skye Skinner led Clark’s offense with a pair of doubles and a single, followed by Rebecca Strange and Whitney Conkwright with three hits each.
Megan Terrell and Peyton Skillern each slapped a pair of singles, followed by Sydney Anderson with a one-bagger.
Conkwright went the distance for Clark and scattered nine hits. Conkwright fanned five batters and walked just one. Conkwright didn’t allow a hit in the final five innings.
Clark will take on Henry Clay tonight, followed by a 40th District encounter against Montgomery County Thursday at Cardinal Heights.
