Betty Lou (Gaylord) Fauller, 83, died at home in Nicholasville on April 22. The daughter of Sally Nell McGuire and the late William Henry Fauller, she was born Jan. 1, 1929, near Matthews, Mo. She was a member of the Lexington Seventh Day Adventist Church and had been a kindergarten and first-grade teacher in Jessamine County until her retirement in 2000. She began her teaching career in Missouri, teaching at Charter Oak and Gray Ridge schools (1949-1958). After a hiatus to rear her children, she resumed her career in 1977; she taught first at Warner Elementary School and then transferred to Nicholasville Elementary School in 1979. Previously, she had taught kindergarten at Nicholasville Baptist Church (1971-1977). In addition to her mother, she is survived by two daughters, Tonya Gaylord of Gaithersburg, Md., and Tyra Gaylord of Granger, Ind.; her sisters, Nola Gipson of Sun City West, Ariz., and Delberta Minner of St. Louis, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Fauller.
