May 01, 2012

PERRYVILLE — Two teenagers were arrested Saturday after allegedly stealing a truck and eluding Perryville police.

Justin¿Adams, 18, of Danville, is being held in Boyle County Detention Center in lieu of a $10,000 cash bond for alleged auto theft, first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree fleeing or evading police, reckless driving, receiving stolen property under $10,000 and several traffic offenses such as failure to wear a seat belt. The other teenager arrested was an underage male, so authorities did not release his identity.

On Saturday at about 11:05 p.m., Adams was driving a 1987 Ford F-250 pickup that had been reported stolen either late Friday night or early Saturday morning, according to police. A Perryville officer spotted Adams traveling eastbound on U.S. 150 and tried to pull him over. However, Adams allegedly refused to stop and led police on a chase for about 30 minutes. Kentucky State Police and Boyle County Sheriff’s Department joined in the pursuit.
