Dorothy Lou King Kester, 82

Dorothy Lou King Kester, 82, of Stanford, died Saturday, April 28, at Golden Living Center in Stanford.  

Born July 1, 1929, in Henderson, Dorothy was a daughter of the late George and Nell Gibson King. She was a homemaker, a member of Stanford Baptist Church, a charter member of the Southside Baptist Church in Booneville, Ind., and the widow of Robert Edward Kester.

She was also preceded in death by six brothers, Bill, Charles, Floyd, Lloyd, Peter and Raymond King; and six sisters, Elizabeth Simpson, Cora Flack, Juanita Bartley, Amanda Claybrooks, Nell Mann and Midge Russell.

Survivors include a daughter, Sheila (Stuart) Underwood of Stanford; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today (May 3) at Schneider Funeral Home Chapel, Mt. Vernon, Ind., with Dr. Doug Russell and Dennis King officiating.  Burial will follow in Belle Fontaine Cemetery, Mt. Vernon, Ind.

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be given to the Lincoln County Junior Miss Scholarship Program and or "Ezekiel Rain (a Missionary Fund for Thailand Restoration Homes), both in c/o Mae Renner, P.O. Box 366, Stanford, KY  40484.
