Arthur Lee 'Dick' Sharp: May 6, 2012

Arthur Lee “Dick” Sharp, 92, of Winchester, husband of Iva G. Sharp, passed away on Sunday, May 6, at his home. 

Mr. Sharp was born in Montgomery County on Dec. 5, 1919, to the late William Andrew and Pearl Eades Sharp. 

He was retired from the Lexington-Bluegrass Army Depot, and was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and the I.O.O.F. Lodge.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Barbara Brogle and Wanda (Joe) Sampson of Salvisa, Geneva (George) Bryant of Berea, Arthur (Peggy) Sharp of Bloomfield and Gloria (Bobby) Tyler of Winchester; two stepchildren, Robert (Abbe) Woolwine of Lebanon, Ohio, and Pam (David) Spears of Sky Valley, Ga.; 17 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren; and two sisters, Edna “Kernie” Witt and Alma Jones of Winchester.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 9, at Scobee Funeral Home by the Rev. Gary Baker.

Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Mr. Sharp’s nephews, David Sharp, Steve Sharp, Bill Sharp, Glenn Witt, Gary Witt, Bobby Jones, Jack Jones and Alan Jones. 

Honorary pallbearers will be the surviving members of the I.O.O.F. Lodge, David England, Woody Wills, Mike Caudill and Bill Berry.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 8, at Scobee Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice East.
