Douglas Eugene Banks, 74, of Paris, formerly of Winchester, widower of the late Vada Ann Shumate Banks, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2012, in Paris.

Mr. Banks was born in Breathitt County on Sept. 6, 1937, to the late Henry and Bessie Jacob Banks. He was a retired maintenance technician at Sylvania and a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Survivors include his daughter, Tammy Stanfield of Winchester; his son, Christopher Banks of Wheelwright, Ky.; three stepchildren; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and six brothers and sisters, Randall Banks of Paris, Linville Banks of Campbellsville, Judy Franklin of Paris, Marion Banks of Richmond, Henry Banks of Vine Grove, Ky., and Danny Ray Banks of Harrisburg, Penn.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Monday, May 14, at Scobee Funeral Home by Bro. Bill Shumate. Burial will be in the Clarmont Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 12 to 1 p.m. Monday at Scobee Funeral Home.
