First of all, I want to wish a very Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms and Moms-to-be out there! I hope your special day was a great one!

Virgin Mobile will be adding a 4G option to its pre-paid cell phone and broadband plans beginning May 31. The plans for the new 4G service will start at only $35 per month, with unlimited data and messaging included and, best of all, no contract.

Virgin Mobile will offer the new 4G service via three new products: a new Android 4.0 phone, the HTC Evo V; an Overdrive Pro 3G/4G mobile hotspot that can connect up to five WiFi enabled devices; and a U600 3G/4G USB stick offering dual-mode speed for your PC or Mac.

Roku corner

Roku has discontinued its Roku 2 HD. In its place it has released a 2012 model of its Roku HD player at the end of April. The new Roku HD has a suggested retail price of $59.99.

The 2012 Roku HD has a color scheme that is all black, with the bottom portion of its base being purple — basically the reverse scheme of its Roku LT model. The difference between new 2012 Roku HD and its Roku LT is the former has all three RCA outputs and it is slightly larger than the Roku 2 models.

The new HD also comes with the newest Roku remote, which features the three extra shortcut buttons for Netflix, Pandora and Crackle.
