John R. Hammond, 66, of Madison County, husband of Betty Holder Hammond, passed away Wednesday at the Pattie A. Clay Regional Medical Center in Richmond.
A native of Mariemont, Ohio, he was born March 31, 1946, to the late John and Elizabeth Berling Hammond.
John was a United States Army veteran, manager at the Pepsi plant and a Christian.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Mark (Shannon) Hammond; daughters, Renee Hammond, Susan Hammond, and Donna (Rick) Johnson; brother, James (Arlene) Hammond; sisters, Myrna Ward, Martha O'Neal, Merle Hammond and Marie (Dave) Burghar; and two grandchildren, Cody Jones and Jack Hammond.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Hammond.
Visitation will be Saturday from noon until 1:30 p.m. at the Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St.
Graveside services will follow Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Clarmont Memorial Gardens, with Bro. Ryan Dotson officiating.
