Let's pick Mick

May 20, 2012

I have known Nathan Mick since he came to Garrard County and accepted the position of economic development director five years ago. I have been extremely impressed with the job that he has done over the years, but the news in last week’s papers was actually what inspired me to write on his behalf.

The announcement that we would have a Dollar General Market right here in Lancaster was certainly music to these old ears, and I know Nathan Mick is 100 percent responsible for it. He has worked diligently for a long time to make this grocery store a reality.

Nathan has gone above and beyond the call of duty in bringing businesses and jobs to our area, and his perseverance has paid off. He is a hard worker and not afraid to take on a challenge. I know Nathan well enough to be able to say that he is his own man, and will not be influenced or intimidated by anyone.

Nathan and his wife, Maggie, have chosen to make Garrard County their home. They were married in Lancaster and own a home on Danville Street. His past experience, his expertise and his knowledge of the workings of state and federal governments definitely make him the most qualified candidate for state representative from the 36th District.

I do hope you will join me and my family in supporting Nathan Mick in the primary next Tuesday.
