Double murder suspect Lillie Stanton was released from the hospital this afternoon and lodged in the Clark County Detention Center, three days after she allegedly stabbed her daughter and granddaughter to death.

Stanton, 48 of 233 Vaught Road, still had bandages on both arms and her neck from her own self-inflicted wounds following the deaths of Danel Korrey Stanton, 23, and 22-month-old Kaydence Ray Miers Sunday afternoon.

Winchester Police Capt. James Hall said Lillie Stanton was released from the University of Kentucky Medical Center around 2:30 p.m. today. Following an hour-long interview at the police department, detectives walked her to the jail where she will be held for two counts of murder.

Hall said she reiterated her statement from the hospital Monday, in which she admitted to killing them both and how it occurred. Hall would not comment on her motive.

"It was not a spontaneous act," Hall said.

So far, a bond has not been set.

Police announced the charges during a press conference Tuesday morning. Detectives were not able to interview Lillie Stanton until Monday afternoon, Hall said, due to her injuries. She had been under police custody at the hospital until her release, and was brought directly to the police department this afternoon.

Officers were called to the residence around 5:30 p.m. Sunday, after Lillie Stanton's ex-husband returned home and discovered the scene. Danel Stanton and Miers were located in a bedroom in the residence, police said. Several knives with blood on them were found in the home, and they have been sent to the crime lab for further analysis, Hall said.
