— Joel Layne, 32, of 388 Colby Road, was charged Wednesday with theft by unlawful taking over $500.

— At 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dianna Stokely of 335 S. Main St. reported that she was assaulted by a known female at 1370 Cabin Creek Road.
— At 12:44 p.m. Wednesday, Wanda Dixon of 125 Freedom Way reported that someone took a 50-inch plasma television from her home along with a laptop computer and a smart phone. Someone kicked in the back door to the residence.
— At 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Roscoe Snowden of 406 Mount Vernon Drive reported that someone took several of his checks and forged one at Save-A-Lot.
— At 5:55 p.m. Wednesday, Darick D. Dixon of 514 E. Broadway reported that someone broke into his home and took a PlayStation 3.
— At 12:39 p.m. Tuesday, John S. Wells of 3900 Muddy Creek Road reported that someone took a gate, two rolls of fence wire and tractor parts from his farm.
— At 11:33 p.m. May 19, Paul B. Rogers Jr. of 39 Hiawatha Trail reported that someone took three lawn mowers from his father's property at 1205 Goshen Road.
