THURSDAY

— The Jessamine County Public Library will host “Lasting Change with Catholic Charities of Lexington” from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

SATURDAY

— A free meal is provided by Manna Ministries each Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The meal is a restaurant-quality meal served at 303 W. Maple St. in the community center of Nicholasville United Methodist Church. The meal is open to the public for anyone in need. Takeout meals are available after 12:30 p.m. Volunteers are always welcome and can contact the office at 859-885-4481.

— The Wilmore Farmers Market is now open for the 2012 season. Fresh produce and baked goods will be available each Saturday starting at 8 a.m. The market will be open rain or shine until 1 p.m., or until that week’s goods are sold out. The market is located in the city-hall parking lot.

— Join the Camp Nelson staff for Public Archaeological “Digs” on June 2, July 7, and August 4. Be a part of the continued research and history of Camp Nelson Civil War Heritage Park in these supervised "digs" led by Dr. Stephen McBride, Director of Interpretation at Camp Nelson.  Come for the 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. session or the 1–4 p.m. session. Open to adults and children 10 years old and older. Call Peggy McClintock at 859-881-5716 to reserve your spot. Space is limited to 15 people per session. Cost is $4 per person.

— Saint Athanasius Orthodox Church, located at 926 S. Main St., offers free bread to families and individuals in need in the Nicholasville area. Saint Athanasius distributes this bread, supplied by Panera Bread, every Sunday from 1-2 p.m. on the porch of the South Main Street location.

— The grand opening for InnerCity Breakthrough Ministries will be held at 11:15 a.m. The new church is located at 201 S. 1st St., Nicholasville. For more information, call 859-885-0007.

MONDAY

— The Jessamine County Senior Center is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and welcomes people 60 years of age and older. The center has a fully equipped exercise room and a thrift shop. The seniors meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Activities are from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bus service and a hot lunch are available on a donation basis. For more information, call 859-885-9102.

— The Francis Asbury Society, located at 1580 Lexington Road, Wilmore, is hosting a study of the book of Exodus on Mondays at 7 p.m. through June 16. The study is led by Dr. John Oswalt, visiting distinguished professor of Old Testament at Asbury Theological Seminary. WEDNESDAY

— The Jessamine County Public Library will host a computer class on using the Internet for work and pleasure from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

UPCOMING EVENTS

— Chrysler on Nicholasville is teaming up with Relay for Life team Generations Hair Depot Ponytails to raffle of a piece of UK history. Tickets to win a pink autographed Anthony Davis basketball will be on sale May 18 through the drawing on June 8. Each ticket purchase receives three entries for $10. Tickets can be purchased at the following locations: Chrysler on Nicholasville, Generations Salon, Jessamine County clerk’s office and Town Square Bank. — The Jessamine Amateur Wireless Society (JAWS) will host its annual field day Saturday, June 23, at Lake Mingo Park in Nicholasville. The event will begin at noon Saturday and run through noon Sunday.
