Dorothy M. Carey Lewis Stringfield, 83, of Danville, died Friday, June 8, 2012. Born May 30, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Buford and Virginia Lewis Carey. She attended First Baptist Church and retired from Kroger after 35 years.
Survivors include her husband, Clayton W. Stringfield, of Lexington; a daughter, Brenda Blakemore, of Winchester; two sons, Don (Leia) Lewis, of Harrodsburg, and Kevin E. Stringfield, of Lexington; a brother, Donald (Margie) Carey, of Lexington; and two sisters, Lois (William) Jeffries and Edna Coffman, both of Danville; five grandchildren, Whitney (Josh) Steiner, Kyle (Stephanie) Blakemore, Steve Lewis, Abbey Stringfield and Courtney Stringfield; and six great-grandchildren, Sydney, Raeleigh and Morgan Lewis, and Nate, Max and Carson Steiner. She was predeceased by a grandson, John Lewis, and two brothers, John and Bill Carey.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home with the Rev. Morris Trayner officiating. Burial will be at Bellevue Cemetery.
