Nicholasville’s Alfred Charles Ivey Jr. was arrested and charged with 50 counts of first-degree rape of a minor after a paternity test proved he was the father of a 13-year-old girl's child.

Jessamine County sheriff's deputies arrested Ivey, 47, at his home, 199 Pinegrove Circle, Sunday morning on a warrant alleging 34 counts of rape and 16 counts of rape against a victim under 12.

Ivey allegedly raped the daughter of his live-in girlfriend in Elizabethtown, according to Kentucky State Police Trooper Norman Chaffins of Hardin County's Post 4.

Ivey is not related to the victim, but was dating her mother during the time the alleged rapes occurred, Chaffins said.

The victim became impregnated at the age of 12 and gave birth to a daughter on June 8, 2004, Chaffins said.

The KSP warrant states the victim was forced to have sexual intercourse at least once every two weeks over the five-year period.

"She didn't reveal the father until May (2012)," Chaffins said. "When they filed for child support. And a paternity test showed (Ivey) was the father."

The warrant states,"After learning who the alleged father of the victim's child was, the victim's mother, who has cared for the victim's child since her birth, petitioned the court in Garrard County for child support."

A DNA test was ordered to establish paternity and revealed that Ivey "was the father of the victim's child, with an accuracy rate of 99 percent."

Ivey was transferred to the Hardin County Detention Center on Tuesday, June 12 and remains in custody on a $500,000 full-cash bond.

His next court date is set for 9 a.m., Wednesday, June 20 in Hardin County's District Court.
