HARLAN (AP) — Former Gov. A.B. Chandler predicts he will win the Democratic gubernatorial nomination in 1963 and that his victory could reach “landslide proportions.”

Miss Mary Kathryn Layne will leave Tuesday for Paris, France, where she will serve as an exchange student for six weeks under a program sponsored by the International Center at the University of Louisville. While in Paris, Miss Layne will live in the Pavillion Neerlandais, a part of the City Universitaire. At the end of six weeks’ residency in Paris, Miss Layne, who will be a junior this fall at the University of Kentucky, is planning a three weeks’ tour of France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Austria and England before returning to Winchester Aug. 22.

Miss Susan Mathis of Peoria, Ill., is the houseguest of Miss Marie Stephenson at the home of her mother, Mrs. Floyd Day and Mr. Day on Long Avenue. Miss Mathis will be a bridesmaid in the wedding of Miss Stephenson to Henry Dale Corns.
