Bessie Hurt: June 18, 2012

Bessie East Hurt, 89, widow of Milford Ed Hurt, died Monday, June 18. She was a member of Nicholasville Baptist Church and a retiree of Central Baptist Hospital. Survivors are a daughter, Wilda and husband Alan Grant; a granddaughter, Lena and husband Dean Thornton; a sister, Lorene Chumley; and many cherished family members. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Betts & West Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Bearers will be Brad Reeves, Charles Teater, Jeff Stotts, Harold Smith, Dean Thornton and Jeremiah Phelps.
