Burn ban issued

Due to continuing drought and heat, the city of Hustonville has issued a burn ban effective until further notice. For more information, call (606) 346-2501.

Free program to be offered for cancer treatment patients  

“Look Good … Feel Better,” a program designed to help women overcome the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment, will hold its next session July 10 at Commonwealth Cancer Center. Classes are taught by professional licensed beauty professionals (cosmetologists, estheticians, nail technicians) and are open to all women undergoing cancer treatment. 

The program is a collaboration between Commonwealth Cancer Center, American Cancer Society, Personal Care Products Council Foundation and Professional Beauty Association-National Cosmetology Association.

The program is free but registration is required. To reserve a spot, call Commonwealth Cancer Center at (859) 236-2203. 

Bluegrass concert set

Waynesburg Area Rescue Squad will host a bluegrass concert with concessions beginning at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Groups include Gospel Sounds, Southern Grace, Lester Larkin Family, Flat Lick Express, Just in Tyme, Lincoln County Bluegrass Boys, Salt River Band, Gene Vanhook and The Kentucky Drifters, Joe and Jerry and Family Tradition, String Mountain Express, and Donnie Rogers and Canoe Creek.
