A Winchester man pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges that he forced his way into a woman’s home, assaulted her and raped her earlier this month.

Christopher Keller, 30, is facing two counts of first-degree rape and single counts of fourth-degree assault and second-degree burglary from a pair of incidents.

Keller was arrested Tuesday and arraigned in District Court Wednesday. Automatic not guilty pleas were entered for the felony charges and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for July 11.

According to court documents, the first incident occurred on June 19 when Keller was in the victim’s home. She told police that he forced intercourse with her, after flipping her over and ripping her underwear off.

She said he had ripped her underwear off again when officers arrived. She said he was about to assault her, but “the police were there too fast.” He was also charged with rape in that incident.

The victim said Keller was a former live-in boyfriend. Keller was arrested at the scene, and officers noted there were two small children in the home at the time of the June 26 incident.

Keller is being held on a $25,000 cash bond, which the judge based on the charges and a prior guilty plea to violating a domestic violence order.
