Obituary: Ronnie Walls

JUNCTION¿CITY — Ronnie Dean Walls, 71, of Junction City, died Wednesday in Panama City, Fla.  

Born Oct. 14, 1940, in Danville, he was a son of the late Donald Royce and Mildred Kendrick Walls. He was the chief bailiff for the Boyle County Sheriffs Department. Ronnie had been a truck driver for RC, Dr. Pepper and Pepsi, and served on the volunteer Junction City Fire and Rescue Squad. He coached and refereed youth basketball for the Boyle County Recreational Department and he loved to bowl and play softball. He was an avid golf, NASCAR, UK and Boyle County Rebel fan. He was happiest when he spent time with his family, and the more people around him the happier he was.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Joyce Lancaster Walls; a son, Jeffrey Dean (Kimberly) Walls of Danville; two daughters, Jana Hall of Danville and Pam DeWolfe of Versailles; one brother, Larry Walls of Danville; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Two brothers, Harold and Dale Walls, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City. Rev. Dale Denton will officiate. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. 

Pallbearers will be Brandon DeWolfe, Tyler Walls and members of the Boyle County Sheriffs Department. 

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
