A Nicholasville man was arrested June 28 on an E-warrant stating he was in probation violation from Florida stemming from a conviction of 149 count of possession of computer child pornography.

Ronald Keith Neal, 60, of 109 North Glencove, was arrested and charged by Nicholasville police at his home.

The citation states officers confirmed he was a fugitive from Florida by using the National Crime Information Center database.

A Jessamine County warrant was issued by Judge Janet Booth the same day as Neal's arrest. The warrant also stipulates extradition to Florida.

The Florida warrant issued by Judge Christine Groider out of Charlotte County on June 27 states Neal violated two conditions of his probation.

The first count alleges Neal failed to complete the Kentucky Sex Offender Treatment Program on June 19.

The second violation of the Florida warrant alleges Neal had unsupervised contact with a 10-year-old boy on June 13. Neal admitted to "grooming" and "holding" the boys hand while at Walmart and "seeing (the boy) regularly at church," the warrant states.

Neal is listed as a registered sex offender in Florida and Kentucky and is on sex offender probation for said crimes until 2015, or 10 years from his conviction.

According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement he was convicted Feb. 2, 2005 in Charottle, Fla., for possession of a photo/pictures showing sexual performant by a child and use of a computer for sex with a minor.

Neal was sentenced to 18 months.

He was released Dec. 7 that same year after less than 10 months in jail, according to the Charlotte Correctional Institutions' website.

Nicholasville Sgt. Scott Harvey said Neal was picked up for a Florida parole violation by his department.

The arresting officer had no knowledge of the case.
