Editor’s note: Taken from the Danville 911 records, the police blotter represents a history of the initial calls and the information used by the dispatcher to send officers to investigate complaints. It is not necessarily an indication of what the officer found upon arrival at the scene, or of how police may have dealt with the complaint.

JULY 1

12:00 a.m., caller on Lexington Avenue reports a driver of an older model black Chevy truck and a driver of a red Chevy truck are racing and cutting people off; caller is in a black Tahoe passing Waterworks Road and the trucks are behind them.

1:05 a.m., vehicle enforcement on Lebanon Road near Panasonic; subject’s vehicle was overheating; water was put in it.

1:10 a.m., vehicle enforcement near Southern States. 

1:25 a.m., requesting to see if an officer can check a possible motorist assist on Lexington Road just past Old Lexington Road; vehicle is sitting on the side of the road with emergency flashers; subjects had help on the way.

1:46 a.m., officer was flagged down by a red Silverado pulling a trailer; vehicle will be towing a black Tahoe. 

2:17 a.m., vehicle enforcement at Stonewall Court. 

2:44 a.m., officers checking on a white male on the bypass near the Liquor Barn; subject got someone from Junction City to pick him up.  

2:49 a.m., caller at Super 8 Motel reports seeing male subject run through the parking lot towards Hampton Inn, requesting extra patrol; unable to locate.

2:52 a.m., caller on Lebanon Road requesting officers check on her husband; he went to work in a vehicle and she can’t get hold of him by phone and doesn’t have a vehicle to go and check on him; unable to locate. 

3:10 a.m., caller near Sears reports a black male across the street. 

4:21 a.m., caller on High Street is requesting an officer make sure male subject knows his vehicle is in Paris; apartment was vacant; other male subject is arrested and vehicle is towed; number provided so owner of vehicle can know where his vehicle is towed. 

5:03 a.m., request for emergency medical service after call came into headquarters from Northpoint Training Center; assistance given. 

7:30 a.m., interior/front door motion alarm goes off at Hancock’s Stop and Go; proper passcode received; false alarm. 

7:54 a.m., vehicle accident on Alexander Drive; neighbor backed into the caller’s central air unit the night before.

8:31 a.m., a hang-up call on Benedict Drive; contact made with male, advised accident, everything is OK; no action needed. 

10:08 a.m., paper service on Alta Avenue; unable to locate. 

10:14 a.m., paper service at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center; unable to locate. 

10:55 a.m., paper service at Lexington Avenue; unable to locate.

11:13 a.m., paper service on Adams Street; unable to locate. 

11:49 a.m., false alarm at Danville Cinemas 8; alarm showing sprinkler room door open; unable to locate. 

12:20 p.m., check on a juvenile white male, approximately 16 years old, wearing a white shirt, sitting under a tree alone.

12:46 p.m., officers stopped at Fackler. 

12:56 p.m., report of a female at a Streamland Drive home talking to an officer about removing her 19-year-old daughter from the residence. 

1:34 p.m., alarms showing interior motion at B&L Jewelry; false alarm. 

1:35 p.m., caller at Best Western is reporting a runaway 17-year-old female juvenile with an active pick-up order out of Garrard County, possibly in the care of brother in room 204/208. 

1:46 p.m., man has flipped his car in the rear lot of Danville Center for Health and Rehabilitation; man has gone inside the business to seek treatment; assistance given. 

2:14 p.m., report of a property damage accident at William E. “Bunny” Davis Recreation Complex.; blue Mazda versus a black Grand Am. 

3:49 p.m., storage room motion set off alarm in Cook’s Collectibles; owner arrived about 10 minutes later; false alarm. 

3:49 p.m., vehicle accident in the parking lot of Peddlers Mall; assistance given.

4:10 p.m., door and siren tampered with at Little Oil Co.; keyholder arrived 15 minutes later in black SUV; false alarm. 

6:47 p.m., paper service at Patchen Point Apartments; unable to locate. 

6:56 p.m., alarm going off at residence on Grabruck Street; everything OK. 

7:02 p.m., caller on Secretariat Drive has located a purse. 

7:06 p.m., caller on Streamland Drive requesting to speak to an officer about the 19-year-old that was removed from her home earlier in the day.

7:12 p.m., caller at Batewood Park found police items close to the park. 

 7:29 p.m., report of a suspicious white male that has a backpack and a blue bag near Toliver Elementary School. 

7:51 p.m., officer initiated at Secretariat Drive; negative contact.

8:15 p.m., caller at Patchen Point Apartments is requesting to speak to an officer in reference to a tip on a domestic case earlier in the week. 

9:48 p.m., report of a downed tree blocking one lane of traffic on Perryville Road 

9:49 p.m., report of a tree in the roadway on Earl Street 

9:52 p.m., report of a commercial alarm going off at the stock room door of O’Reilly’s Auto Parts. 

9:53 p.m., enforcement needed on Hayes, Kemper and Gentry lanes; county notified.

9:54 p.m., report of commercial burglar alarm going off at Southland Christian Church.

9:56 p.m., report of commercial burglar alarm going off at Ferguson Enterprise Inc. on Ben-Ali Dr.

9:56 p.m., report of a tree down on Gose Pike.

9:59 p.m., caller on Butler Drive reports a possible burglary in progress, caller heard the front door slam; wind was blowing the doors. 

10:00 p.m., caller on Erskine Drive reports a powerline down behind the neighbor’s residence has set a tree on fire; assistance given. 

10:06 p.m., fire department reporting power lines in the trees on U.S. 127 South are sparking; KU notified.

10:26 p.m., report of a tree blocking a line of traffic at 1772 Parksville Crosspike; state highway notified; state called to advise that one at 1822 has been removed; advised nothing more pending.

10:57 p.m., third party on Stanford Road reports a vehicle inbound toward Danville going the wrong way on U.S. 150. 

11:05 p.m., caller on Bold¿Venture is requesting to speak to an officer about Salvation Army assistance.

11:33 p.m., report of a two-vehicle injury accident at the¿Gose Pike intersection;  extracation complete at 11:53 p.m.

11:36 p.m., caller at CVS Pharmacy advised she was just assaulted by several males, no descriptions, no weapons.
